Teaching and research interests in Victorian literature and culture; working-class literature; poetry and poetics; Chartism; gender studies; and the novel

Professor Loose received her Ph.D. in English from the University of Iowa (2006) and MA degrees in English from the Universities of Iowa (Victorian Lit) and South Carolina (Romantic Lit). She also earned a BS degree in Biology from Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She has taught a variety of courses ranging from Narrative Literature and Women & Literature to Greek Myth & Civilization and Gender & Sexuality in Ancient Greece & Rome.
